What is Matin?
Matin combines your company's own team chat with an AI agent for managers. People work in chat as usual, and the agent picks out what managers need to follow up on.
An AI agent reads it all, so you don't miss what matters
It picks out requests, deadlines, and decisions from chat, and every day gives the people you name as managers three things.
Only what involves you, every morning
On weekday mornings it DMs you up to five items: requests you own, deadlines coming up, new decisions, and work that's stuck. Each comes with the owner, the due date, and a link to the original message.
✅ when it's done. The rest comes back tomorrow
React ✅ to mark an item done or ❌ to hide it. When the owner writes something like “sent it”, the next brief asks “Is this done?” so you can check.
“What happened with…?”, answered with the original messages
Ask the bot in a DM and it answers from the channels you can read. Every answer links to the messages it used, so you can check on the spot.
Features for everyday operation
They let you fit the core to your company's rules and your team's rhythm.
Your company's own chat
Matin runs Buzz, the open-source chat that Block publishes, as a separate space for each company. Your team joins your company address (for example yourcompany.matin.team) from the Buzz desktop app (Windows / macOS) and gets channels, threads, DMs, reactions, and image sharing.
Admin console
Where admins work, in the browser: invites, choosing managers, choosing channels, checking the AI allowance, and billing.
Channel selection
The bot joins public channels on its own, and admins can switch off any channel in the admin console. It reads a private channel only when that channel's owner or an admin adds the bot.
Brief time and pause
DM commands change when the brief arrives, or pause it while you're away. Commands work in Japanese and English.
Sharing between managers, and several admins
Group managers or set reporting lines, and each manager's brief brings the items from other managers' channels that concern them: blocked work, new decisions, requests that involve them or their team. A manager can also pass a decision from their channel on to other managers. No counts or rankings of people or teams are made. Items from private channels are included only when an admin switches that channel on. Several admins can use the console, and members can be invited and removed there.
AI allowance management
The AI allowance is shared across the company. Admins are notified at 50%, 80%, and 100% usage, and briefs and ✅ keep working even when it's used up.
Because it reads company conversations, it follows these rules
We want it to be easy for everyone at work to understand, and easy for anyone to check.
The agent is a visible member
The bot shows up as a member of the workspace. When it joins a channel, it posts a notice saying so.
Anyone can check what it reads
Anyone can DM the bot “channels” to see which channels it reads.
Answers only from what you can read
Answers cite only messages from channels the person asking can read.
It never reads DMs between people
The only DMs it processes are the ones sent to the bot: questions and commands.
The agent works inside your team's chat
Your team joins the company workspace from the desktop app, and admins set it up in the browser console. The AI agent works as a member of the workspace.
